Ratings were up and it looked like attendance was as good as I can remember for the spring Atlanta race. People have got to be encouraged by that. Jayski said some of the core southern markets ratings were up significantly.

Hope that continues with Bristol. NASCAR needs some good news these days.......

If there were that many empty seats at a west coast race people would be talking about them more than the wreck....

Didn't they take out stands and seats were still empty?

Anyway... what's really good for NASCAR? Mainstream media talking is talking about Edwards/Keselowsy which will probably translate into higher ratings next race.

All they need is Junior to win Bristol and have Danica in a bikini sprawled across the hood of his car in Victory Lane... mission accomplished! :thumb:

The whole back stretch had seats because Bubba, vt dude, his dad and I had seats for the spring race in 2005!!!

Bubba and I didn't stay there though long, we moved into the turn 3 and 4 section where there were empty seats!!!

The backstretch grandstands were removed after they were damaged by a tornado a few years ago.

Yup. This is the most mainstream coverage NASCAR has had, that wasn't based on whining about Johnson winning or Danica whoring herself out in a long time.

I don't. Just more people to wade through and compete for parking and then have to wait to leave the dern place.

The grandstands were half full.... or half empty, depending upon your perspective.

I have tickets for the Labor Day night race. There was a good crowd on hand. Nice weather, long weekend = success.

For better or worse, Atlanta has a bad reputation that has a lot more to do with circumstances not related to the actual race. Atlanta is a good track for racing. It reminds me a lot of Rockingham.
