Was a great game. That's how they all should be!! I had to get up at 4am so I just wanted the thing over but the outcome made it a little easier to crawl out of bed. LOL

I don't share your reluctance, Pen, but I must also say "GO, PREDS". I really like the Penguins, and I LOVE their city, having spent much of my childhood visiting relatives out there, plus both my kids went to college there. But it's only in the past two or three years that I noticed just how much little Sidney annoys me. He's truly a whiner who plays dirty and usually gets away with it, for some reason. Yes he's a fine player, I'm not saying he isn't, but I'm of the opinion right now that he does NOT deserve to win the Cup 2 years in a row. A shame, because most of the rest of the team does deserve it (especially Fleury and Murray).

The Predators, on the other hand, have never made it to the finals before, they're "hungry" and they're doing what it takes to get themselves Lord Stanley's Cup. GO, PREDS! :rok:

My hate for the Penguins goes back way before Crosby. When the Penguins swept the Hawks in the '92 Finals I was stationed with a kid, who was from Chicago, who was the most obnoxious Penguins fan. As for Cindy, what pisses me off the most is that he is one of the most talented players in the league, and easily an all time great, so he doesn't need to pull all the crap.

He lived in Chicago until high school and moved to Michigan, likes all the Pittsburgh teams, Penn State and the Lakers. Fortunately I could counter his crap being obnoxious about the Bulls.

Now, I have no real love for the Preds, mostly because they may have the worst fan base in the NHL. They may be loyal, but they're shitty hockey fans. When they got eliminated by Detroit a few years ago they booed during the handshakes, and pretty much everything they chant during their home games involves "You Suck!". About the only thing worse is the dumbass St. Louis fans who sing "home of the Blues" with the National Anthem, all while complaining about us cheering through it. All that being said, the Preds do have a good team, and them winning it all will take a little of the sting out of getting our asses thoroughly kicked in the first round.

I thought it was a good game but not sure about the goal reversal.

This series is starting to look a little one-sided; let's get those Preds back to home ice and hope for the best.

I fell asleep early last night, when it was 1-1. Imagine my surprise when I woke up and saw the final score.

There was one more tally....but it was negated by a foot that didn't drag quite long enough on the blue line..... one of the prettiest goals of the night, too

I'm breathing a little easier this morning - that's why they call it "home ice advantage". 8)

But one more thing - I HATE when peeps mock the goalie in unison like they were doing to Murray last night. Every goalie that ever played the game has put up with crap like that (yes, our house goalie too) and they all seem to catch on to tuning it out, but good grief, peeps, this is for the Cup. Stay classy.

I like reading comments on facebook. It's like being back in grade school. Once in awhile I will like a post but won't join in unless it is on a friends page. Every team has annoying fans. Lets hope Murray can make it 8-0 after a playoff loss!!

I'm 'afraid' it is time to put in MAF....

not even sure doing THAT can save this series....

Don't UNcelebrate yet, Chrissy - they return to Pittsburgh for the next game and I truly believe in that "home ice advantage" thing. Their fans and just being home will energize them again.

But Player Of The Game for last night? Pekka Rinne! Wow! :rok: (Whether it was home ice or that he finally got the Pens outta his head, he returned to true form last night.) :woohoo:

I quit watching after the goal was reviewed 2 minutes of play later (yes, it was a goal by the play-backs; I just don't believe in such things - not for baseball, not for football, not for a game that is in progress - I would have felt the same had it been the Pens who scored.) At that point, I knew Murray was 'done'....

we shall see, I suppose....

Its only 2 games. Thats why they play 7. We will see how they play back at Pittsburgh.

Glad the next game will be "country" free.

6-0??? Holy sheet! :banghead:

Just my own personal observation - if I ever see "little sidney" do what he did last night (grab Subban's helmet and beat his head against the ice while the oblivious linesman looks on without stopping it), the Penguins will go on my "Meteor List" like the Devils and the Rangers, and never ever come off. I realize to the rest of the world, that's no big deal, but since Pittsburgh is one of my favorite cities, it's a big deal to me. :annoy:

(I also don't care about Milbury saying that Subban deserved it. Any idea what I think Milbury deserves?)

Sorry I had to laugh. Not a fan of Subban though. Tried of the hits on the pens not just Sid. At this rate it will be penguins in 4 (at home). Nashville will redneck it up Sunday night.

A little Black and Yellow Penguins style!

I understand that, Wrangler, and now that I've finally cooled down a little, I think I'm maddest at the official who stood right beside little sidney and watched while he grabbed Subban's helmet and beat his head against the ice, waiting way too long before stopping it. If the NHL is serious about doing something about concussions, then this crap has to stop.

I'm a big fan of both the Pens' goalies and some of their players (don't laugh but I'm a big Phil Kessel fan), but just because of little sidney: GO, PREDS!

Congratulations to the Pens.

That being said, it's my opinion that the win was acquired by two very poor calls by officials. JMO, and I will not change my mind.

Two poor calls by the officials?

Sorry, Vegas, but they made NO CALLS on the Preds last night - do you really think they didn't have ANY penalties?

This was one of the most poorly officiated post-seasons I have ever seen. Either make the calls, or make no calls, but what was done here was just disgusting.

As for the no goal - they called it exactly as it should have been....the whistle blew....maybe it shouldn't have, but it did....

But....

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm seeing a lot of stuff now about whether the Penguins or Blackhawks can be called a dynasty.

In my opinion it's neither, unless one of them wins again in the next season. For the Hawks it would be 4 in 10 seasons. For the Penguins it would be 4 in 11 and a three-peat. If neither wins next year then I'd drop the Hawks out of the discussion, but the Penguins could possibly be in a run where they get a couple more over a few years.

That being said, with things as they are I think the edge goes to the Hawks, because even though they don't have a back to back, they did the same thing in a shorter time. 3 Cups in 6 seasons, and 5 Conference Finals in 7 seasons. The Penguins have the same over a 10 season stretch and have 6 seasons in-between 2 of those Cups. The back to back is really the only thing that even makes it worth discussing.

Woohoo back from celebrating!!!!!!....

Seriously though, that was just bad luck on the no goal call. But it was early in the game and in my opinion the refs gave them a few pp's to try and make up for the bad call. They couldn't capitalize. I feel the disappointment every year lately with the Steelers being out coached. LOL
