Welcome to the newest incarnation of a hockey board on a racing board! :rok:

I was switching back and forth yesterday from the Chicago Cup race to the pre-season game between the Canucks and the newly minted Vegas Golden Knights, and the Knights just didn't look that "new". I got busy after the race ended and didn't get to see the 2nd and 3rd periods of the hockey game, so imagine my surprise when I saw the final score late last night: 9-4!

I'm not sure what that means for the coming season - are the Canucks just that bad? Are the Knights just that good? Was it a fluke? :dunno: All I know is I'm so glad hockey season is back that it really doesn't matter; I'll watch anyway. :woohoo:

"Center Ice" is giving a free preview and showing every game from today (first day of regular season) until October 10th!

Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight. :rok:

I didn't get to watch any games last night but when I saw the score this morning from the Hawks/Pens game, all I could think of is "WTF happened???" In case you missed it, it was Hawks 10, Pens 1.

Yes, I said TEN to ONE.

It wasn't that the Hawks did absolutely everything right; they just skated and shot like an extremely good hockey team. And it certainly wasn't Niemi's fault; he was removed from net after 3 or 4 goals went in. Matt Murray took over.....and got 6 scored on him. The D was non-existent, and that was almost the best part of the Pens' game.

If you're a Pens fan, this might be a really long season for you. :dunno:

If you're a Hawks fan, enjoy it while it lasts. 8)

So this Center Ice freebie flew by and I missed most of it. It's over this evening, so if there's any games tonight you want to see, last chance unless you fork over some dough.

Go, Flyers!

Bit of a slump, but I'll take a season sweep over the defending champs.

Yet another outdoor game, next year's Winter Classic is Hawks/Bruins at Notre Dame stadium, and I just saw the Pens and Flyers will play at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly in 2019. They really should keep it to just the Winter Classic, it's getting old. Not to mention the outdoor games have been mostly not good for the Hawks.

I agree with you, Pen - too much of a good thing is just that - too much.

But I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Went to the new Little Caesars Arena on Dec. 11th to see the Wings...lose. Very nice arena, 100 times better than the Joe.

How about those Las Vegas Knights??

Watched the Winter Classic yesterday, and was sooooo hoping that Buffalo would pull off a win against one of my "meteor teams", and they had me believing.......up until OT. (Both goalies were excellent, BTW.)

I wish the Pens would pull him in for one game - dress him - give him one shift - and then have him officially retire

Wrangler, if the first game against the Flyers was any indication, the Pens are home free. :?

I was just (in the last week) reading an article on my iPhone newsfeed about Jagr maybe thinking about "UNretiring", kind of like Mike Fisher. I've got my fingers crossed, cuz he certainly makes hockey fun!

If hitting the pipe counted Pens would be 2-0. LOL

If not the Pens flower can win it all.
