Are there any other local or regional tracks that require a driver to compete in 90% of the scheduled events to be eligible for point money. New owner at one of our area track eliminated heat race money, acquired sponsors for all the classes then implemented a rule that says if you do not run in 90% of schedule that you do not get any point money. Some classes that could mean missing 2 races eliminates you from the money. It is possible that you could win season title and not get point money.

That needs to be tweaked. Not a totally bad idea, but the numbers need adjusting.

Well, this is qm racing at our track - no money involved - but if a kid doesn't make compete in half the points races - no matter if they win the other times they are there and lead the points otherwise - they do not receive a trophy and do not win the points.

That would not be unusual for if someone misses half the events very likely he/she wouldn't be in top 10 in points. Here we are talking about people who work a 40 a week job every week and racing is their hobby on the weekends. They are not professionals. Easy for someone to miss a few weeks with part failures or family commitments. I have seen many drivers in the past miss 2 or 3 weeks and still run well enough to get into top 10. Also seen drivers who are never up front but are there each week make the top 10. In the tracks 60+ years of running i do not recall any of the previous owners requiring someone to run 90% to earn point money. Really aren't talking a lot of money per person. A few hundred at most for some positions. If you consider there are 8 rotating classes and most have sponsors, the money adds up. Could be easy to eliminate most if not all drivers from eligibility with a 90% rule. 8 classes with as little as $3,000 average point fund per class you are talking about $24,000 of money that should go to drivers that is now going elsewhere. .

Yea maybe i should apologize to them all, get down on my knees beg for forgiveness. and Nah screw them. There is a reason i do not socialize with many of the other drivers away from the track. That is you cannot have a friendly disagreement without it turning personal.

That seems to be the MSR motto these days. Never seen such fussing like what we've had lately.
