This coming Tuesday is election day. Every member of the House and 1/3 of the Senators are up for re-election. It is very important that dirt track fans get out and vote.

Earlier this year the EPA tried to expand their regulatory power to include smaller bodes of water including temporary puddles of water. If the EPA successful in their power grab those little puddles of water on the inside of the race track after the track is watered could come under the authority of the EPA. At my local track we have one county commissioner who tries to have the track shutdown every election year. If the EPA were able to grab control of smaller areas of water then he could use the EPA to shut down the track.

The House has passed legislation that would prevent the EPA power grab but it has died in the Senate. The only way to protect the interest of dirt track racing is to take control of the Senate from Obama supporting democrat and replace them with Conservatives. If race fans could replace all the Mark Pryor types and replace them with more Tom Cotton type conservatives then we can protect racing.

Please read this article about how the EPA is attempting a major power grab.

Think it cannot happen to you? Then maybe you should talk to Gary Harrington who was arrested and sent to jail for collecting rain water in a barrel.

Not exactly collecting off a roof into a barrel (which is perfectly legal almost everywhere). He was diverting natural waterways into his own holding ponds...several thousand gallons (possibly a million plus gallons), not tens or even hundreds of gallons.
