Some Notes...

After debris from lost components of the new aero kits from both manufacturers littered the racing surface in St. Petersburg, INDYCAR has mandated structural upgrades in advance of this weekend’s race at NOLA Motorsports Park in order to strengthen some of the new bodywork. The modifications include the addition of new pieces designed to improve the overall strength of the bodywork. The manufacturers have handled the redesigns and INDYCAR has approved them for the remainder of the season.
“We applaud both Honda and Chevrolet for their efforts to implement these changes,” said Derrick Walker, INDYCAR president of competition and operations. “With a quick turnaround from St. Petersburg, our partners were very diligent in making these enhancements in time for this weekend’s event. We will continue this collaboration and expect additional improvements in the future.

AND negative points!!!

Chevrolet was penalized 220 points for doing major engine work on 11 of 12 engines before reaching the allowed mileage. Given a batch of potentially faulty valve springs, Chevrolet elected to make the repairs rather than risk engine failures, and expected the 20 point per car penalty to follow. Since it only earned 128 points in St. Petersburg, the deduction puts Chevrolet in the negative with -92 and puts Honda in the lead with 70 points. Chevrolet will now have to overcome a 162-point deficit to its rival.

What a cluster**** that race was.
Can't they can't red flag it to get some sort of a "racing" finish?

+1...never laughed so hard in my life watching that mess. No idea how PT and Townsend kept it together.

According to the announcers it was a rousing success. which is complete bullshit. As to no late red flag, I believe they were up against even heavier rain moving in.

Race started with 15 green flag laps. Then it was spin off the track or accident. The most laps run in a row was 4 when the "fun" started. Something like 21 green flag laps and 26 caution laps.

Robin Miller must've got his dick in a knot in NOLA. He (while not the only voice bitching on the web) is bitching about everything including the track.

I thought under better conditions the track looked like it would pretty damn racy to me.

Also...Chip is Mr. negative wherever his name is posted lately. I'm thinking the smaller Target $$$ dose is really binding him.

I watched the final 30 minutes of this race. I don't believe I will be jumping on the m.1ndyCar bandwagon anytime soon.

Well we know what's eating Chip.

He now has 1.5 pay drivers. And Floyd has a lot more ego than Dale Coyne.
