As much as I would like to celebrate the winner of the race, prayers are needed for Jules Bianchi..that looked like it was a hard impact from the pictures being shown around the net.
I wish him the best, get back to full health young man.

Just a side question, I wonder what Nikki was thinking about them running in these conditions? I realize and have seen them run in some piss poor conditions(Australian GP in...'07?)but there was little chance of improving conditions..it should have been red flagged much earlier.

Here is the statement from the F1 website.

http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/ ... 16448.html

I haven't seen Bianchi's wreck, doesn't seem to be video of it. He spun off at the Dunlop corner and hit a recovery truck that was moving Sutil's car.

That was Fucking nasty, praying for a full recovery.
Yes the race should have been called.
or a safety car on the track, but if there was yellow flags further back, and the way/speed at which the car came in, I wonder if its plausible there was a mechanical failure of sorts either Brakes or a stuck throttle?

:prayers:

Bianchi's medical condition is called a diffuse axonal injury.

http://www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/jules-bianchi-remains-critical-but-stable-and-is-suffering-from-diffuse-axonal-injury-30646115.html

went to Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffuse_axonal_injury

Quote:
Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is a brain injury in which damage in the form of extensive lesions in white matter tracts occurs over a widespread area. DAI is one of the most common and devastating types of traumatic brain injury,[1] and is a major cause of unconsciousness and persistent vegetative state after head trauma.[2] It occurs in about half of all cases of severe head trauma.

The outcome is frequently coma, with over 90% of patients with severe DAI never regaining consciousness.[2] Those who do wake up often remain significantly impaired.[3]

DAI can occur in every degree of severity from very mild or moderate to very severe.[4][5] Concussion may be a milder type of diffuse axonal injury.
