Christmas time is here

When we gather together this Christmas, it’s going to be super-awkward since everybody is dead because Donald Trump pulled out of the Paris Climate Scam, repealed net neutrality, and cut taxes. The depredations of Genghis Khan, the Black Plague, and the repeal of the Obamacare mandate – these are pretty much the same thing. Santa Claus and all of our dreams are dead too.

On the plus side, since we are all dead there’s no one to make egg nog, which is the worst of all possible nogs.

:rollsmiley:

Now, as your late family gathers together, all dead because of Trump’s authoritarian reign of terror, try to remember that in the spirit of the season, you should mock your liberal friends and family unmercifully. It’s a painful time for them. The economy is booming, ISIS has been beheaded, and Mueller hasn’t found Schiff. That’s why it’s so, so very important to kick them when they are down. Because Christmas is a time where we celebrate giving, so give them grief. Because it’s the only way they’ll ever learn.

Contempt for Trump serves as a warrant for abandoning all disinterested judgment

The end is near

In an interview Monday, Jay Sekulow, a member of the president’s legal team, stood by the prediction that the part of the inquiry involving Mr. Trump would end soon. Still, he avoided any mention of specific dates.

“I know we, collectively, the lawyers, are looking forward to an expeditious wrapping up of this matter,” Mr. Sekulow said.

A spokesman for Mr. Mueller’s office declined to comment.

An outside legal expert said Monday he was dubious that Mr. Mueller’s inquiry is barreling toward a swift conclusion.
<------- Translation to follow.....

It can't end until after the midterms in November, when we take back the House and then use Mueller to impeach Trump

Landmine for Mueller

There is so much libtard woven into (and around) this article it's hard to wade through. Good luck

Mounting questions about the FBI's continuing credibility – including Trump's jab that the bureau's reputation was in "tatters" – have landed hard at the agency. The FBI was sent reeling in May when Trump abruptly dismissed Comey for his handling of the Russia inquiry.

Wray, who took over in September, has publicly defended the bureau's reputation in the wake of Trump's attacks. He was joined late Tuesday by the FBI Agents Association, whose members issued a rare, collective defense of their own.

"Attacks on our character and demeaning comments about the FBI will not deter agents from continuing to do what we have always done – dedicate our lives to protecting the American people," the group said in a written statement.

Note the connection to Trump? Trump attacked the FBI, etc., blah-blah-blah. It's all bullshit. The only people who sincerely believe that crap reside within the Beltway. That lemmings out in the countryside will gleefully chirp it as they rush towards the collusion precipice is nothing more than sauce for the goose.

They know they're screwed up, and they know they got bent over by the previous Administration, not the present Administration. Their platitudes are aimed in the wrong direction, they should be thanking the public - who graciously pay their salary - for not storming the building and running them all out of town on a rail. That's what they deserve, after the blow they've landed on the rule of law.

Manafort redux?

It's a witch-hunt, and has nothing to do with Russia anymore.

That’s why they hate Trump. He didn’t make them irrelevant; he just showed the world that they were irrelevant. And that’s unforgiveable.

Slowly, it’s dawning on Trump’s enemies – on our enemies – that this isn’t just an unfortunate, temporary bump in the road to the Californiaization of America, but a U-turn. The people who elected Donald Trump were something his allegedly conservative Never Trump opponents never were: serious about being conservative. It’s easy to grift the donors with big talk about culture wars and policy initiatives when you never expect to be in a position to actually pull them off. But the Normals finally got sick of election year bomb-throwers morphing into pliable puffboys once their reps crossed into the Beltway. And that’s how you got Trump.

Suddenly, the fake hardcore facade of Conservative, Inc., was revealed for what it was – a pose, an act, tiresome political voguing. When someone finally showed up who actually wanted to act on all the things the pro-cons had been talking and writing about for decades, well, that didn’t leave a lot of room for those who only wanted to talk and write and luxuriate in being insiders. Never Trumpism spends a lot of time whining about how Trump is “vulgar” and “unfit,” but what these guys really resent is that he has embarrassed them. He showed them up. He did what they had been yakking endlessly about doing, and they hate him for it. They much prefer the quiet dignity of losing under a Bush or a Romney to obscurity under a Trump.

Like I've been saying for months. They're all butthurt. And that last sentence, that's the money line.

Trump may be viewed as vulgar to the elites....

...but he sounds like an ordinary average guy to average ordinary guys and gals.

You should read the links I post, I never post junk. But my feelings aren't hurt

Oh yeah, Happy New Year to you and yours :rok:

Not so fast there you blue state devils

Tax-reform legislation signed into law last week eliminates the federal penalty for not having health insurance, starting in 2019. That’s good news for those who’ve been buying ObamaCare to avoid the penalty, and even better news for those who’ve actually been paying the penalty.

But don’t start celebrating yet. In New York, California, Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey and other deep-blue strongholds, the insurance industry and left-wing activists are agitating to enact state penalties to replace the soon-to-be defunct federal one.

Ouch! Six-and-a-half million filers paid the federal penalty last year, including approximately 400,000 right here in New York and 60,000 in neighboring Connecticut. The penalty-payers largely earned less than $50,000 a year. They paid the penalty because they found ObamaCare unaffordable.

Blue states and the libtards who run them just can't ever do with less, so convicted are they that the government is the ticket to avarice and utopia.

Dumbasses :rollsmiley:

btw anybody find anything curious about that $50k per year number? What was the point of BarryCare supposed to be? Oh yeah, that's right. Save $2500 per year per family and if you liked your doctor you could keep your doctor.

NOT!!!

nah, BarryCare was designed to fail and move the nation towards single-payer. Hillary needed to be elected though.

You see folks, this is what is classified as astute analysis in the media

Take this here for instance...

Old-guard Republicans can comfort themselves with the thought that as long as the hard right keeps nominating figures like Moore—or Paul Nehlen, the one-time primary challenger to Paul Ryan who is now known for dabbling in anti-Semitism—they will keep losing. But that’s only half of the story: the other half is that the Republican old guard shows no sign of winning back any of the hearts and minds that have been lost to the populist right.

The hard right nominated Moore? Mitch McConnell and the "old guard" swamp RINO's caused Moore by fucking around in Alabama when they had no need to do so. Anybody remember Mo Brooks? Yeah, McConnell decided that they didn't want to go up against him in Alabama in a one on one, that they'd rather run against Moore. In part, now we know why as it was - most likely - McConnell who fabricated the perv story about Roy Moore and leaked it to the Washington Post.

Well they got what they wanted, and they heaved a nice big Christmas present to the Democrats by losing a solid safe seat in maybe the reddest of red states in the South. McConnell is a self-serving political idiot who is concerned with only one thing, his hold on power. What has he accomplished in his long political career? Answer, not very much at all.

Trump isn't a populist, either. Trump carries the R brand, but he is more closely aligned with the old South Democrats, minus the racism they represented. And that's if he is anything of modern definition. Maybe Trump just gives a shit about the direction of the country, and finally had enough and decided to run. Maybe Trump is just a concerned American. Maybe it's just as simple as that. But not to these gems of brilliant ignorance.

This writer assumes the GOP are going to lose the House. Democrats are real confident all of a sudden, or so goes the narrative. They haven't been this confident since November 8, 2016

The GOP need to take the midterms seriously, but the idea that all of these experts who wish them no good fortune, as a rule, keep warning them to take it seriously or, that their soon coming minority status is a fait accompli.... these people are driving a propaganda narrative. And they are reading way way too much into what happened in Alabama, instead of looking at what actually happened in Alabama.

Dumbasses.

Why I am still a NeverTrump'er

Maybe David Brooks is considering retiring as the token "conservative" at the NY Times?

Or maybe he's just a hypocritical douche. Stephens that is.

Civil service reform

I'm with her. Long overdue, imo.

Biggest improvement?!?!

Make it easier to fire incompetent people. Period.

Salaries aren't the problem. Benefits aren't the problem.

Perpetuating incompetence is the problem.

Just my .03 worth.

When Candidate Trump first referred to “the swamp,” he was talking about the bog of Beltway lobbyists and “establishment” politicians. But President Trump’s first year in office has revealed that the real swamp is the unchecked power of those who actually run Washington: the two million members of the federal bureaucracy. That civil-servant corps was turbocharged by the Obama administration’s rule-making binge, and it now has more power—and more media enablers—than ever. We live in an administrative state, run by a left-leaning, self-interested governing class that is actively hostile to any president with a deregulatory or reform agenda.

It’s Lois Lerner, the IRS official who used her powers to silence conservative nonprofits. It’s the “anonymous” officials who leak national-security secrets daily. It’s the General Services Administration officials who turned over Trump transition emails to Special Counsel Robert Mueller in the absence of a warrant. It’s the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Leandra English, who tried to stage an agency coup. It’s the EPA’s “Scientific Integrity Official” who has taken it upon herself to investigate whether Scott Pruitt is fit to serve in the office to which he was duly appointed. It’s the thousands of staffers across the federal government who continue to pump out reports on global warming and banking regulations that undermine administration policy.

More broadly, it is a federal workforce whose pay and benefits are completely out of whack with the private sector. A 2011 American Enterprise Institute study found federal employees receive wages 14% higher than what similar workers in the private sector earn. Factor in benefits and the compensation premium leaps to 61%. Nice, huh?

So, if character matters, dude's point is Hillary has better character than Trump.

I'm not buying it. For. One. Second.
